This will be quick.
I have a couple tweaks to check out that will change how you use your phone.

#Gesturizer

“Gesturizer” is a cool tweak by Conrad Kramer the same dev that gave us “Gaviboard,” that let’s you assign gestures to launch your apps.
No more scrolling through pages on your springboard or digging through folders. Open the switcher (most of us Tap home button twice,) then – Just Draw.

Gesturizer is configured in Settings and you can add as many gestures as you want to your apps or actions in Activator.
20110926-030204.jpg

You will want to avoid drawing an glyphs that are similar in shape such as circles and the letter “D.” Gesturizer can be a little sensitive and it’s important to draw distinct shapes. It’s also important to know and remember that Gesturizer may not recognize your shape you’re drawing, but it will always recognize a shape. So launching an app you are not intending on launching is possible and very likely if you have similar glyphs. Take this into consideration while creating new glyphs.

I suggest squares and triangles or letters with straight lines and no curves. Although my Cydia glyph, a square with a “C” inside, works perfectly well.

Gesturizer is definitely a tweak you can live without and although very cool, because of it’s not a necessity may bit over priced at $2.99. I know it’s only a dollar but $2.00 seems about right for this and it that price I could see adding it to all my devices.

But don’t let a dollar stop you from checking it out.

#KBShortcuts

KB Shortcuts turns your keyboard into a toolbar and gives each button another function.

Brought to us by iSam and available in BigBossRepo for $2.50 and definitely a tweak you’ll use at least once a day. So. I would say perfectly priced.

#KBS is enabled and configured in Settings and you can add “Quick Text” to insert as well.
Quick text are great for anything you write or text often.
Such as “New blog up,” “Check DM,” “Test,” “#iLoveTheCommunity.”
Now you can say all these with a single swipe.
When KBS is enabled just swipe from Space Bar to the letter/number of desired function. For “Help” swipe to “?” and your help menu is appears.

20110926-030507.jpg

All quick text are assigned to numbers that you yourself give them in Settings.
KBS gives your keyboard the ability to cut, paste, undo, redo, define, translate, or find key words. That’s just a few functions it offers and many you may never use which in my opinion makes it more valuable but value is in the eye of the user, so all I can say is at $2.50 it is priced just right for me.
It does have some stability issues and for anyone who types fast (like me) it will give you some headaches because you will unintentionally use “shortcuts” that turn that email or blog your composing into a long cut, and it may cause certain apps to crash.
I would recommend in an update he have a better way of activating KBS to perform function. I love the swiping gesture but it’s frustrating typing fast and then accidentally moving your finger too fast from spacebar to “x” and cutting your entire body of text away.
I would suggest either (a “spacebar to ” ” to spacebar swipe) or (hold spacebar for two seconds then swipe ” “) if at all possible in a future update.
Also the disable function is too easy to hit ( space -) and there is not an enable function without going into settings and respringing.

Overall it’s an awesome tweak that I could actually see eventually in some capacity being a part of stock iOS.

Many times I have gone to send someone a picture, video or file via email only to realize for the hundredth time I can not perform this simple function in my native MobileMail app.
You have to send photos from Photos app.

Until now…

From H. Samara and N. Bassen the same peeps that brought us #PlayAwake and #AskToSend we now have #AnyAttach

Just open your Mail app and “Atach Any” photo/video or file.

A paperclip is added to your subject line. Similar to any other email attachment symbol you would see on a computer. Click on paperclip. And search desired file or photo.

20110908-055101.jpg

If your familiar with iFile or even SSH then you should not have any problems navigating through the system of files. If you’re just trying to send photos then you definitely will not have any issues.

This is another very simple functionality addition to your device that you won’t notice you’ve been missing it until you have it.

AnyAttach is available in Cydia (BigBossRepo) for just $1.99. And I think it’s perfectly priced.

It’s so great when a developer creates something to add to our native apps that should be there from day one. Why the Apple either misses these things or just flat-out refuses to add them or sees no use for them still confuses me. Although I suppose it does always give them a new toy to add to future firmwares. After all, many of these tweaks that have “compromised the functionality of the device” in the past may seem familiar to you. Folders, Backgrounder, Wallpaper, the list goes on.

This week we see yet another tweak added to in the BigBoss repo by Evan Coleman, follow Evan on twitter (@edc1591). Speed for Maps is for iPhone ONLY and requires iOS4+ and although it could easily sell for $0.99, it is FREE.

Speed adds a small black circle to the bottom of your native Maps app and displays your speed. There is no icon added to your home screen and it can be changed to display in MPH (miles per hour), FPS (feet per second), KM/H (kilometers per hour), MPS (meters per second), or even Knots (kts) for those traveling by sea.

App Tag

So I came across a neat little tweak for your iDevice. It’s called #AppTag by @Onjai and it’s available in @macciti repo for FREE.
It’s a very simple tweak that doesn’t offer any functionality but it will give your device a little more character.
AppTag allows you to add a Custom Badge to any app.
Adding a badge is very easy.
To Use AppTag set icons into “Wiggle Mode” then Double Tap icon you wish to set badge for and you will get a pop-up prompting you to “Set New Badge”

To remove badge follow same steps then simply remove.

This simple tweak if updated could be pretty cool. And it does have one major issue, the badge is removed if the app has notifications attached to it. lets say you add “Text” to your SMS app, after receiving a SMS the badge will be removed and you’ll have to manually add the badge again. Also if you have a font installed it may not fit. So you’ll get this…

I would like to see more from this app. Changing the color of the badge or even the shape. perhaps in future updates but for now it’s worth every penny.



This week I installed three new tweaks/apps to my iPhone4. I have not got around to putting them on my 3G[s] so I do not know how good they work on other devices. These are all three available in Cydia and no sources need to be added. YES! They are all three paid apps and I encourage you to do the right thing and pay them.

1)My favorite of the three is by far LockInfo by David Ashman(@Stimpy5050), he’s an amazing app developer and helped me out very quickly with some questions I had. Gotta love Twitter! LockInfo comes as a FREE 14 day trail package, but it took me less than 14mins to decide to purchase it. LockInfo displays all your important stuff on your Lock Screen. Mail, Calendar, Voicemail, Missed Calls, SMS, and even Notifications. These apps will now be ready to access from your Lock Screen and can even be launched from the Lock Screen as well, should you choose to have that feature checked. Although, these will be visible from your Lock Screen, privacy is NOT an issue. You are in complete control of what is displayed and where it is displayed.

I am not giving a tutorial, but I will show you how to change the Plug In Order, only because this is one thing I had trouble with. Access LockInfo>Plug Ins>Plug In Order>Hold finger on the gray lines at the right, drag each plug-in to your desired position.

All these important apps are now accessible from your Lock Screen. Need to know what is on your agenda for the day? Simply tap “Calendar” and your events drop down. Need to see if that email came yet? Same thing, tap “Email” and your emails will drop down. Customize your settings, so that you get a preview of the email or just the Sender or Subject, etc. You can even, choose to show ALL your accounts or just your main account. To change your LockInfo settings, Go To Settings and scroll down.

LockInfo also gives you the ability to hide your Slider and change your Unlock Gesture. Many of you may have played around with Activator and have already done this, from “Shake to Unlock” or “Hold the Sleep Button” or just changing slider direction, there’s not much you can not modify. I prefer the “Quickly Double Tap Home Button” to Unlock, with “Hide Slider.”

The best part about LockInfo is the Plug Ins that you can add, which are also available in Cydia, many of them for FREE, to add even more character to your iDevice. My favorite so far is the HTC- Plug In Add on. This adds the HTC Clock and Weather to your Lock Screen. This can also be customized and by tapping the clock you get a drop down six-day weather forecast.

This is just a quick and easy way to stay on top of your daily task and stay organized. Plus, having live weather on your Lock Screen is pretty cool on it’s on, one thing I think HTC, got right.

2) Chat Pic (BigBossRepo )by Jason Magahern is one of those apps/tweaks that blows my mind that Apple did not include stock, at least by now. But we all know they like to slowly give us stuff that jb-devs have been giving us for a while now. Such as Multi-task and Folders. But that’s another topic.

Chat Pic adds a Contact pic to your SMS app and allows to see a pic of the person you are texting while you are texting them. Great if you have multiple contacts with the same name or if you are ever in the middle of texting many people at the same time. Even better if you are texting two people with the same name at the same time. Of course, we’ve probably all sent that text to someone intended for someone else, some of us have probably even sent a text about somebody to the person that we were talking about. That’ s why you need Chat Pic. Go get it! It’s only $0.99!!!

3)WebLeaps (BigBossRepo) by Arron Lindsay @AerialX – WebLeaps a functional app that adds Keyboard short cuts to your Mobile Safari Search bar. Instead of having to go to each search engine or website you need or want information from you can simplify your search by adding a search phrase before you begin your search. We all know using a search engine can return many results that we just don’t need, so far for me, using WebLeaps has helped tremendously. Directly search Google, Yahoo, Wikipedia, Dictionary.com, eBay, and even You Tube.

There’s a couple dozen or more of the keywords used to simply your searches. Quickly search in Search Engines, Wiki, Shopping sites, Technology sites, and Social Network Sites including YouTube. WebLeaps is a Mobile Substrate and can be turned on/off using SBSettings. There is a small chance with some searches that it will conflict with your search. For example, if you are trying to search for information on GI Joes. You would normally type “gi joe,” but now with WebLeaps enabled this would return you Google Image results for people named Joe. No problem! Just add “g” to the beginning of your search. So you would type “g gi bills.” This will now search Google for GI Bills.

It may seem like a unnecessary app but it has been very useful. It filters out a lot of search results that always get thrown back anytime you just use Google. I have one thing I would change about it. I wish it was more like Universal Search, so you can use it from Spotlight. That would make it one of the best apps ever.

So there you have it peeps! That’s my reviews for the week. I hope this was a least somewhat helpful. Now, open Cydia, Install and Enjoy!

So today marked the Very First #SaturdaySwap™!
If you are on Twitter then you know about Follow Friday? Marked with the hash tag #ff. This a day to let all your followers know who else they should be following. It’s a good way to spread your network and gain more friends.
